Wine Review: This slightly hazy and very dark ruby colored red blend from Chappellet opens with a black cherry and black currant bouquet with hints of cola and cedar. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, seamless, and savory. The flavor profile is a blackberry and stony minerality blend with notes of black cherry and black pepper. I also detected hints of cedar, clove, and tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and tannins build-up and show very nice length. I would pair this red blend with a New York strip steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2024 Mountain Cuvée Proprietor's Blend is beautifully aromatic wine leaps from the glass with enticing aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, and plum, as well as French oak-inspired notes of mocha, cedar, and clove. On the palate, the wine is round and complex, with lush, creamy tannins supporting luxurious flavors of ripe berries, fig, vanilla, and notions of dried herbs.
