Wine Review: This very pale coral colored Rosé from Danica Patrick opens with a tangerine and maraschino cherry bouquet with hints of grapefruit pith. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and bright. The flavor profile is a nectarine and white tea blend with notes of saline and peach pit. The finish is dry and refreshing. We would pair this very good Rosé with a grilled mahi-mahi sandwich and a beach. Enjoy - Ken & Stuart

Winemaker Notes: Danica Rosé bottles Danica Patrick’s love affair with Provence – a region renowned for its dry, effortlessly elegant rosé wines. Made in partnership with Julien Fayard and crafted with organic grapes from the Côtes de Provence appellation. This wine shares refreshing aromatics and energy with an unmistakably Provençal accent. Aromas of peach, strawberry, and orange blossom mingle with the scent of sea air on the nose. On the palate, soft waves of juicy nectarine, tangerine, and watermelon shine with rhubarb acidity and clean, mineral reflections. Zesty citrus and red fruit notes linger through a fresh finish of cranberry and mandarin orange. This rosé is a natural match for seafood — think shrimp Provençal or a classic bouillabaisse.

A Visit To Virginia Wine Country – Fall 2026

The fall is a perfect time to plan a visit to Virginia Wine country. Ken and the KWG Tasting Panel have been covering the winning wines from the Virginia Governor’s Cup for years. Winemaker Interview Series – Jeff Gaffner of Saxon Brown – May 2026

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Jeff Gaffner again. Jeff is the winemaker and owner of Saxon Brown Wines. During the interview, we covered four single-vineyard 2023 Chardonnays, three Pinot Noirs, a cuvee, and two single-vineyard offerings, also from the 2023 vintage. We wrapped up the tasting with a 2023 Zinfandel.
