Wine Review: This clear and pale coral colored Rosé from Bieler opens with a kumquat and lime bouquet with hints of crushed seashell, white peach, and watermelon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a stony minerality and lime blend with notes of white pepper and stone fruit. I also detected hints of tangerine and herbal tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. I would pair this food friendly and versatile Rosé with my poached pear salad with candied pecans and Great Hill blue cheese. Winemaker Interview Series – Jeff Gaffner of Saxon Brown – May 2026

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Jeff Gaffner again. Jeff is the winemaker and owner of Saxon Brown Wines. During the interview, we covered four single-vineyard 2023 Chardonnays, three Pinot Noirs, a cuvee, and two single-vineyard offerings, also from the 2023 vintage. We wrapped up the tasting with a 2023 Zinfandel. In this post, we also added reviews from a 2023 single-vineyard Zinfandel and another 2023 single-vineyard Chardonnay that we covered in subsequent tastings. On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Joel Peterson again. Joel is the winemaker and owner of Once & Future Wines.
