Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Rodney Strong opens with a cassis and dried coconut flakes bouquet with hints of black cherry, chocolate, and cedar. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth and seamless. The flavor profile is a graphite and cassis blend with notes of cedar and black cherry. I also detected hints of cocoa, tobacco, cinnamon, and a touch of blackberry at the very end. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and moderate tannins are nicely extended. I would decant this wine briefly in the near term before pairing it with grilled steakhouse steak tips from the Alpine Butcher. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The Symmetry is a blend of our best vineyard blocks, cherry picked to showcase luxurious aromas of cassis, bramble, and cacao, which unfold on the palate into silky layers of dark fruits, sweet spices, and a supple, rich mouthfeel. This wine is harmonious and elegant with refined tannins and a long, lingering finish, providing a lovely compliment to your dinner table. Winemaker Interview Series – Stephen Cruzan of Lasseter – April 2026

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Stephen Cruzan again. However, this time Stephen is at a new winery. We interviewed Stephen in July of 2023 when he was the winemaker at Titus. Now Stephen is the winemaker for Lasseter. During the interview we covered three white wines. A 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, a 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon blend, and a 2023 Chardonnay. Winemaker Interview Series – Melissa Stackhouse of Dutton Goldfield - April 2026

On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, we interviewed Melissa Stackhouse once again. Melissa is the Winemaker at Dutton Goldfield. During the interview, we covered the winery’s 2025 vintage Pinot Blanc and one of their single-vineyard 2023 Chardonnay wines.
