Wine Review: This clear and ruby red colored Pinot Noir from Bravium opens with a black cherry and orange peel bouquet with hints of rose petals, juniper, and cedar plank. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, mouthwatering, and a bit zesty. The flavor profile is a stewed red plum and stony minerality blend with notes of black tea and black pepper. We also detected hints of loam, red cherry, cinnamon, and cedar. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and moderate tannins are nicely extended. This Pinot really softens with some aeration. We would decant it in the near term before pairing it with Ken’s wild mushroom toasts. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This elegant wine is a blend of my favorite barrels produced from Wiley Vineyard Pinot Noir grapes in 2023. With rose petal aromas, layers of delicate red berry flavors, and a touch of Christmas cake spice, this delicious Pinot Noir is a study in balance and nascent complexity. Red and blue fruits dominate the lushly textured flavors and are joined by sumptuous black tea and sweet tart notes on the velvety finish. This varietally-correct Wiley Vineyard Pinot Noir is accessible today, yet it will age gracefully for years to come.
