Wine Review: This clear and very pale golden yellow colored Chenin Blanc from Ken Forrester in South Africa opens with a Bosc pear and jasmine bouquet with hints of golden raisin and dried marigold. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and zesty. The flavor profile is an Anjou pear and saline blend with notes of white pepper and chalky minerality. We also detected hints of oak and green tea. The finish is dry, refreshing, and it lingers nicely. We would pair this Chenin Blanc with grilled Chilian sea bass. Enjoy - Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: Golden hued and full bodied, with melon and spicy baked apple aromas. Layered, with mineral notes enhanced by honeycomb and caramel flavors from lees contact. This wine is a great example of the harmonious balance which can be achieved between fruit and delicate oak/vanilla flavors, as they combine to form complex, soft flavors with sufficient body to enhance even spicy and full-flavored meals.
