Wine Review: This clear and coral colored Grenache Rosé from Saracina opens with an orange peel and saline bouquet with hints of quince. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, gentle, and bright. The flavor profile is saline and light lime zest blend with notes of green tea and white pepper. I also detected hints of ruby grapefruit, clementine, and quince. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a while. I would chill this Rosé slightly and bring it to the beach this summer. Share with friends and it will not last very long. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: About two miles down the road from our estate, tucked into the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains, sits the pristine Lakeview Vineyard. This little site is home to some of the most delicious Grenache we’ve tasted. This is the stuff of stupendous rosé—and a real beauty was born. Boasting a soft coral hue and perfumed notes of peach blossom and ripe quince, it’s vibrant, mouthwatering, and best sipped alfresco with family and friends!

Winemaker Interview Series – Martha Stoumen of Martha Stoumen - April 2025

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, we had the opportunity to interview Martha Stoumen. Martha is the winemaker and owner of Martha Stoumen Wines. We covered three white wines, two rosé wines, and three red wines with Martha. Martha is not your typical California winemaker. She uses lesser-known grapes, makes atypical blends, and has a unique style. You can read about these unique wines and other tidbits we learned from Martha in our latest blog post. Winemaker Interview Series – Cole Ballentine of Predecessor - April 2025

On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, we had the opportunity to interview Cole Ballentine. Cole is the co-winemaker, with his father William Ballentine Jr., at Predecessor Estate. Cole and his father-built Predecessor Estate to reunite the mountain with their ancestors who once farmed the area. We covered Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines from both the 2018 and the 2021 vintages. We also covered the Predecessor Estate reserve Cabernet Sauvignon named "Lorraine" from both the 2016 and the 2108 vintages. These are super-premium offerings; very little of each was made. You can read about these special wines and other tidbits we learned from Cole in our latest blog post. Read This Blog Post
