Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Malbec from Zuccardi is an excellent value. It opens with a blueberry, green olive, and black cherry bouquet with hints of leather, violets, pencil lead, and sauteed mushrooms. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and savory with nice tension. The flavor profile is a black cherry and oolong tea blend with notes of blackberry and tobacco. We also detected hints of gentle stony minerality, black pepper and black tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its well-managed moderate dusty tannins are nicely sustained. We would pair this Malbec with a grilled hanger steak or with smoked brisket. Enjoy - KWGTP
