Wine Review: This clear and light straw-colored Chardonnay from Carneros opens with an oak, pineapple, and poached pear bouquet with hints of white peach. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is rich, round, and dense. The flavor profile is for oak lovers. It is a blend of rich oak, pineapple, and butterscotch with notes of Bartlett pear and vanilla. I also detected hints of lemon. The finish lingers and lasts for quite some time. I would pair this oak lovers Chardonnay with a lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of yellow peach and ripe melon are found on the nose, interspersed with bright citrus notes. These notes continue on the palate, featuring creamy vanilla and buttery nuances on the long finish. Rombauer’s signature bright acidity is evident in each sip, balancing the softness of the mid-palate. Our favorite pairing for this wine is crab cakes.
