Wine Review: This dry white blend of Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Albarino, made on Cape Cod, Massachusetts is a pale straw color with aromas of poached pear, green melon, quince, white pepper, and sea breeze. On the palate, it is medium-minus bodied with zippy medium-plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, fresh, crisp, and is easy drinking. There are flavors of Bosc pear, lime zest, Galia melon, saline, and herbal tea along with notes of white peach and white pepper and a hint of ash. The finish is refreshing and long. Serve chilled on your deck overlooking Cape Cod Bay with a basket of fried clams. - Mark

A Visit To Virginia Wine Country – Fall 2026

The fall is a perfect time to plan a visit to Virginia Wine country. Ken and the KWG Tasting Panel have been covering the winning wines from the Virginia Governor’s Cup for years. Winemaker Interview Series – Jeff Gaffner of Saxon Brown – May 2026

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Jeff Gaffner again. Jeff is the winemaker and owner of Saxon Brown Wines. During the interview, we covered four single-vineyard 2023 Chardonnays, three Pinot Noirs, a cuvee, and two single-vineyard offerings, also from the 2023 vintage. We wrapped up the tasting with a 2023 Zinfandel. Winemaker Interview Series - Joel Peterson of Once & Future - May 2026

On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Joel Peterson again. Joel is the winemaker and owner of Once & Future Wines. In the interview, we covered one regional 2024 “Old Vine” Zinfandel, five 2024 Single-Vineyard Zinfandels, and, finally, a retrospective 2016-vintage Petite Sirah.
