Wine Review: This is an elegant and fresh Brut sparkling wine from the Anderson Valley in California. It pours a pale straw color with streaming tiny bubbles. The evolving bouquet includes green apple, sourdough toast, chalk dust, kumquat, orange blossom, and vanilla. On entry the froth is mouth filling, the palate is medium-minus bodied with moderate acidity. I found the wine to be supple, round, well-balanced, crisp, and layered with flavors of sliced pear, crushed stone, croissant, and green apple with notes of red apple peel and lemon. The mineral driven finish is nicely extended. Serve chilled with bite-sized Maryland lump crab cakes. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: Roederer Estate Brut is crisp and elegant sparkling wine with complex pear, spice and hazelnut flavors. Oak-aged wines from our estate’s reserve cellars are added to this blend, creating a multi-vintage cuvée that has great finesse and depth of flavor.

Ken has been so impressed with Virginia wines that Theresa and he visited some wineries in the Charlottesville region in October of 2024. We highly recommend that you check out the six Virginia wineries in this post. We will start from the south near Charlottesville in the Monticello AVA and make our way north. Read This Blog Post
