Wine Review: This clear and darkish red colored Mourvèdre from Texas opens with a lingonberry and cherry bouquet with hints of dried herbs and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a mild raspberry tea and lingonberry blend with notes of stone dust and red licorice. I also detected hints of cedar, maraschino cherry, and a touch of red bell pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Mourvèdre with grilled pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken & Dave
Winemaker Notes: Our 2022 Texas Hill Country Mourvèdre thrives in the warm Texas climate, making it a perfect fit for the region. This wine is made from 100% Mourvèdre grapes and was aged for 18 months in 30% new French oak barrels. On the nose, you’ll discover aromas of dark cherry, vanilla spice, and hints of sage. The palate is smooth and inviting, with soft, supple tannins, and rich flavors of baked strawberry and warm baking spices. This Mourvèdre offers an elegant balance, showcasing the unique character of Texas terroir in every sip.
