Wine Review: This hazy and medium purple colored Merlot from Whitehall Lane opens with a chai tea and mocha bouquet with hints of black coffee and pomegranate. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and pleasant. The flavor profile is a blueberry and cocoa blend with notes of graphite, cedar, and walnut. We also detected hints of cinnamon, orange zest, and a faint drop of caramel. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this Merlot with a slow cooked pork shoulder or with beef stroganoff. Enjoy - KWGTP
