Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Patz & Hall opens with an inviting Dr Pepper bouquet with hints of dried strawberry, violets, and cigar box. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, polished, and approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty cherry and red plum blend with notes of spice drop and cedar. We also detected hints of mushroom, strawberry, and black tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and fine gentle tannins fade away nicely. We would pair this Pinot with pan-roasted quail with dried cherries and a Pinot Noir sauce or with a grilled portobello mushroom burger. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Exceptionally high intensity red fruit and cola aromas leap from the glass. Savory supporting actors of nori, dark soil, fresh rain, and sea spray contribute to a greatly complex effort. The tannins are so supple and fresh they are nearly sweet. Licorice, cocoa partner with a beam of acidity, lending intrigue and freshness to the finish.
