Wine Review: This clear and light ruby colored Pinot Noir from Olivia Brion opens with a faint blackberry and clove bouquet with hints of red licorice and graphite. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and shows nice density. The flavor profile is a flavor forward blend of stewed black plum and gentle blackberry along with notes of black pepper and black cherry. We also detected hints of dark chocolate, oak, fennel, and clove. It is pretty complex. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed moderate tannins are nicely sustained. We would pair this Pinot Noir with a duck crostini with blackberry-thyme jam and brie or with a wild mushroom risotto. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2022 vintage was extremely bright and vivacious in character across the board. This wine embraces that trend in a fun almost over the top way. The traditional flavors of blackberry and raspberry are alive and well in this wine along with the distinct floral notes from the Pommard clone of Pinot Noir. But what I have come to crave most about this wine on an almost daily basis is the zestiness it brings to my life and ability to keep my mind off the terrors of today.
