Wine Review: This cloudy and very dark ruby colored after dinner wine from Robert Foley is terrific. It opens with a molasses and fig bouquet with hints of bourbon, pecans, and caramel. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is tasty molasses and fig blend with notes of espresso, golden raisins, and cedar. We also detected hints of candied pecans and hazelnut. On the finish its flavors, acidity, and some heat lingers for a while. We would pour this impressive dessert wine over vanilla bean ice cream. For a pairing, try it with a bourbon-soaked sponge cake or with a tiramisu. Enjoy – KWGTP
Note: We usually only sell this wine in the tasting room or at wine dinners. However, it can be ordered by calling the office or emailing sales@robertfoleyvineyards.com.

Winemaker Notes: “Conclusion.” We are excited to offer a new vintage of our barrel aged classic Port-style fortified wine, Conclusão. Classic Port aromas of deep ripe black fruit, berry candy and candy corn bring on an amazing unique wine. The Portuguese varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cão, and Tinta Barocca we use in this blend are grown near 2000 feet elevation in the York Creek Vineyard high up Spring Mountain. Natural mountain acidity is evident in the balance of this finely aged wine. Neutral cooperage allowed aging without oak flavor extraction for 7 years. Pair it with Maytag blue cheese.
