Wine Review: This slightly opaque and medium purple colored Malbec from Zuccardi opens with a smokehouse and green olive bouquet with hints of blackberry, Luxardo maraschino cherry, loam, and a touch of anchovy paste. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and zesty. The flavor profile is a black fruit and stony minerality blend with notes of steeped black tea and Luxardo maraschino cherry. We also detected hints of tobacco and Baker's chocolate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and polished medium tannins show nice length. We would decant this Malbec for a bit before pairing it with Korean bulgogi (Korean BBQ beef) or with a pig roast. Enjoy - KWGTP

Ken has been so impressed with Virginia wines that Theresa and he visited some wineries in the Charlottesville region in October of 2024. We highly recommend that you check out the six Virginia wineries in this post. We will start from the south near Charlottesville in the Monticello AVA and make our way north. Read This Blog Post
