Wine Review: This deep purple colored Syrah from Lasseter opens with a complex array of aromas featuring mulberry, smoked meat stick, and chocolate along with hints of peppercorn, olive, black currant, and saddle leather. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, robust, savory, and fresh. The flavor profile is a chocolate and black licorice blend with notes of stony minerality and blueberry. We also detected hints of cedar, cola, blackberry, and tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins are nicely sustained. We would pair this Syrah with Emeril’s pan-roasted duck breast. Enjoy - KWGTP
