Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from McPrice Myers opens with a smoked meat and blackberry bouquet with hints of cigar box and fresh ground coffee. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, generous, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry and smoked meat blend with notes of black licorice, graphite, and cedar. We also detected hints of menthol, dark chocolate, and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate chewy tannins linger nicely. We would decant this versatile Syrah in the near term before pairing it with a marinated grilled hanger steak or pig roast. Enjoy - KWGTP
