Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from Gondak Cellars opens with a mild blueberry and black plum bouquet with hints of black tea, and a touch of toffee. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, silky, and seamless. The flavor profile is a gentle cedar, crushed stone, and black cherry blend with notes of acai berry, mild coffee, and cinnamon. We also detected hints of marionberry and dark chocolate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins stick around for a while. We would pair this food friendly Syrah with braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
