Wine Review: This brilliant, deep red colored Nero d'Avola from Sicily, Italy has aromas of black cherries, saddle leather, fig newtons, espresso, and dried herbs. With loads of ripe fruit on the palate, it's balanced, medium-plus bodied with mouthwatering medium-plus acidity. It is also a bit rustic, smooth, and approachable. There are flavors of black plum, sweet tobacco, and black cherry with notes of loam, anise, and black pepper. Dusty tannins build-up in the long finish. Serve with char-grilled butterflied leg of lamb. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: One of the first wines produced at the estate and made for 65 consecutive vintages, the 2021 Regaleali red is a great introduction to the beauty of Nero d’Avola. Bright red in color and fresh on the palate, this wine is the perfect blend of austerity and elegance, a classic interpretation of a much beloved native Sicilian varietal.
