Wine Review: This clear and medium ruby colored Pinot Noir from Saxon Brown is excellent! It opens with a black currant and black plum bouquet with hints of cocoa dust and light loam. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, smooth, and robust without being overly concentrated. The flavor profile is a stone dust and plum blend with notes of black tea, slight tart cherry, and oak. We also detected hints of clove, sauteed mushrooms, and red licorice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate well-managed tannins are nicely sustained. We would pair this Pinot with grilled salmon or with a five-star cranberry pheasant recipe. Enjoy - KWGTP
