Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Shiraz from Mollydooker an excellent offering for readers who like super concentrated wines. It opens with a blueberry and black licorice bouquet with hints of smoky oak and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is very well-balanced, super smooth, polished, opulent, and dense. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry and black licorice blend with notes of black cherry and tobacco. We also detected hints of blueberry and chocolate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins are nicely extended. We would love to share this big boy Shiraz with friends around the firepit in the near term. Enjoy - KWGTP

In the glass, the 2022 Velvet Glove is a wine of depth and intensity, reflecting the essence of McLaren Vale Shiraz and Fruit Weight™. It balances strength, depth, and finesse, with a pleasing aroma that harmonizes berries and a blend of spices. Initially, flavors of ripe blackberry and cassis are accompanied by hints of raspberry and chocolate coffee cream. The wine’s supple tannins and velvety mouthfeel complement the richness of the flavors, maintaining an exquisite balance and finesse throughout the tasting experience. The grapes were grown on the Gateway vineyard in McLaren Vale. Barrel fermented and matured in 100% American oak, using 100% new barrels. The required Marquis Fruit Weight™ for the Velvet Glove is 95%+. The Actual Fruit Weight for 2022 Velvet Glove is 95%.
