Wine Review: This hazy and dark garnet colored Zinfandel from Dry Creek Vineyard opens with a blueberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of chocolate and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, bright and polished. The flavor profile is a lingonberry and stone dust blend with notes of black plum and blueberry. We also detected hints of nutmeg, mushroom, cinnamon, and a touch of mint. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and fine tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Zinfandel with bison burger or with barbecue ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The aromas initially express fruit-forward tones of black cherry, blackberry pie and dark chocolate. Subtle notes of plum, marzipan and clove emerge in the background after several minutes of airing. On the palate, flavors of raspberry and black cherry mix with soft undertones of wild blackberries, coriander, and cocoa powder. The wine is supple with tremendous complexity and symmetry between fruit, alcohol, tannin and acid.
