Wine Review: This translucent and ruby colored Valdiguié from J. Lohr is a very good value wine. It opens with a light cherry and potting soil bouquet with hints of red plum and wild strawberry. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a gentle loam and strawberry blend with notes of light red raspberry and red plum. I also detected hints of candied violets and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and faint tannins drift away nicely. This Valdiguié remines me of a very nice Chiroubles Gamay from Beaujolais. I would pair this approachable wine with a cherry and rosemary baked chicken. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Served slightly chilled, displays inviting fresh raspberry, cranberry, and pomegranate aromas, with a bit of black pepper and hibiscus. Flavors of brambly, bright red berry with a touch of spice, mid-palate acidity lead to a juicy, mouthwatering finish. Wildflower is the lighter red accompaniment to all your culinary adventures.
