Wine Review: This clear and deep red colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a cinnamon and teaberry bouquet with hints of raspberry, loam, and pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, and shows great depth. The flavor profile is a dense black plum and spice blend with notes of vanilla, black raspberry, and stone dust. We also detected hints black tea, black pepper, cinnamon, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed refined moderate tannins are nicely sustained. This wine is an ultimate sipper. With food, we would pair this Pinot with a Chateaubriand.
