Wine Review: This slightly hazy and dark red colored Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Amant opens with a cranberry and cherry bouquet with hints of pomegranate and faint cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and very approachable. The flavor profile is a spiced red plum and craisin blend with notes of stone dust and red cherry. I also detected hints of cedar and black currant. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild dusty tannins linger nicely. I would pair this very good value Cab with Grandma’s lasagna. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2022 is a classic rendition of Cabernet - 12% alcohol, spicy with a dense core of ripe berries, cassis, and sweet tannins. The wine is impeccably balanced and has delicious fruit and savory notes that linger on the palate. It finishes with a good grip that should allow this wine to evolve for many years. But it’s delicious right now!
