Wine Review: This clear and dark pink colored Rosé from Rodney Strong opens with a maraschino cherry and banana bouquet with hints of lime and green tea. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, delicate, and fresh. The flavor profile is ruby grapefruit and lime blend with notes of chalky minerality and green tea. I also detected hints of yellow bell pepper, kumquat, and a dash of white pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. I would chill this Rosé slightly and share with friends at the beach or poolside this summer. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The beautifully colored, fresh, and vibrant Rosé of Pinot Noir has aromas and flavors of strawberry, melon, and tropical fruits. Brilliant and bright with fresh acidity, notes of citrus and a clean finish, enjoy this Rosé of Pinot Noir with goat cheese, fresh Thai food dishes or spicy shrimp tacos.

Winemaker Interview Series – Martha Stoumen of Martha Stoumen - April 2025

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, we had the opportunity to interview Martha Stoumen. Martha is the winemaker and owner of Martha Stoumen Wines. We covered three white wines, two rosé wines, and three red wines with Martha. Martha is not your typical California winemaker. She uses lesser-known grapes, makes atypical blends, and has a unique style. You can read about these unique wines and other tidbits we learned from Martha in our latest blog post. Winemaker Interview Series – Cole Ballentine of Predecessor - April 2025

On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, we had the opportunity to interview Cole Ballentine. Cole is the co-winemaker, with his father William Ballentine Jr., at Predecessor Estate. Cole and his father-built Predecessor Estate to reunite the mountain with their ancestors who once farmed the area. We covered Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines from both the 2018 and the 2021 vintages. We also covered the Predecessor Estate reserve Cabernet Sauvignon named "Lorraine" from both the 2016 and the 2108 vintages. These are super-premium offerings; very little of each was made. You can read about these special wines and other tidbits we learned from Cole in our latest blog post. Read This Blog Post
