Wine Review: This slightly hazy and dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Seawolf opens with a fragrant black raspberry and cranberry bouquet with hints of fig, cedar, and tomato leaf. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, fresh, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a black raspberry and black pepper blend with notes of graphite and stewed black plum. I also detected hints of rhubarb, nutmeg, and cranberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed moderate tannins. I would pair this Zinfandel with a messy rack of Firefly's Memphis barbecue baby back ribs. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2022 vintage heralds from a single organically farmed vineyard located on the western ridge lines of Yorkville Highlands. Planted to a mix of Zinfandel clones, Dupratt, and Primitivo. Only a single barrel made, this wine has enticing aromas of crushed black raspberry, violet, sweet spice, and Santa Rosa plum. Full-bodied and elegantly structured with a superb core of ripe fruit and incredible freshness. Bottled both unfined and unfiltered.
