Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petite Sirah from Theopolis opens with an espresso and dark chocolate bouquet with hints of blackberry and black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and approachable. The flavor profile is a graphite and mild black plum blend with notes of black tea and blackberry. I also detected hints of cedar, sage, and blueberry. The finish is dry, and its well-managed fine tannins fade away nicely. This Petite Sirah will complement many foods. I would pair it with a pot roast. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dark cherry, leather, bell pepper, and licorice greet you in the glass of our signature, Estate Grown Petite Sirah. On the palate, juicy blueberries, toasty pie spices, and vanilla are accented by bright acidity and bursts of pepper. Age worthy tannins give way to a long finish. A showstopper to the last sip, this wine will shine for many years to come. An excellent pairing with smoked brisket, or grilled steak. This petite also pairs well with dark chocolate.
