Wine Review: This slightly hazy and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Merriam opens with a black currant, chocolate, and craisin bouquet with hints of orange liquor and toasted coconut. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and zesty. The flavor profile is a tangy red fruit blend featuring cranberry and slightly tart pomegranate with notes triple sec and red raspberry tea. I also detected hints of stewed red plum, red licorice, and oregano. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Cab with a carnitas burrito bowl. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine presents an aromatic profile of cigar box, dried potpourri, and dark fruit notes of blackberry and black currant. The palate is rich with maraschino cherry, raspberry, and subtle spice, complemented by firm tannins and a lingering finish. This wine strikes the perfect balance between elegance and power.
