Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Sequoia Grove opens with a gentle black currant and espresso bouquet with hints of dark chocolate, black cherry, and dried herbs. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, silky smooth, seamless, and powerful. The flavor profile is a complex blend of cassis and graphite with notes of cedar and black cherry. We also detected hints of candied violets, dark chocolate, blackberry tea, and menthol. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and polished dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. We would be very happy to sip this excellent Cab on its own by the fireplace this winter. With food we would decant it for at least an hour before pairing it with a well-marbled ribeye or a standing rib roast. Enjoy - KWGTP
