Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Franc from Paumanok opens with a black licorice and mint bouquet with hints of blackberry, vanilla, cinnamon, and balsam wood. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, layered, and slightly concentrated. The flavor profile is a ripe elderberry and green tea blend with notes of bay leaf, cedar, and blackberry. We also detected hints of black licorice, tobacco, and vanilla. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and gentle tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this New York Cab Franc with beef bourguignon or a grilled marinated flat iron steak. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Fermented in neutral oak with 50% whole berries, the result is savory and red-fruited, with dusty mineral tones, subtle currant, and fig notes on a lovely nose. Medium-bodied on the palate with juicy, spiced plum fruit, layered with brown spices, green olive, cherry wood, and mahogany. Supple yet robust tannins frame the wine, leading to a crunchy, acid-driven finish.
