Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Malbec from Amalaya opens with a black licorice and smoky oak bouquet with hints of fig and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and dense. The flavor profile is a red plum and mocha blend with notes of smoky oak and smoked meat. I also detected hints of graphite and anise. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed moderate dusty tannins linger briefly. I would pair this Malbec with beef stew. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Brilliant ruby color with violet edges. Strawberries, raspberries, and ripe fruit with touch of pepper and spices aromas and elegant floral notes. In mouth, flavors of red fruit, spice, and hints of vanilla from aging in French oak. Very nice freshness. Round, soft tannins lead to a delicate, lingering finish.
