Wine Review: This clear and pale golden straw-colored Chardonnay from Saxon Brown was the clear winner in our recent blind tasting. It opens with an inviting gentle pineapple bouquet with hints of oak, pear butter, vanilla bean, and banana. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is masterfully balanced, silky smooth, lush, and polished. The flavor profile is a tasty blend of butterscotch and poached bartlett pear with notes of vanilla and oak We also detected hints of cantaloupe, pineapple, white pepper. and a touch of chalky minerality. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a very long time. We would enjoy this gem on its own. With food we would pair this Chard with a Maine lazy man lobster casserole or with a chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - KWGTP
