Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Francis opens with a black currant and tobacco bouquet with hints of cedar and red licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and savory. The flavor profile is a black currant and tobacco blend with notes of graphite and black pepper. I also detected hints of black cherry, oak, and black tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and moderate dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. I would pair this Cabernet Sauvignon with garlic-herb marinaded flat iron steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is an elegant and focused Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of cassis, baking spices and cocoa on the nose. Flavors of black cherry, wild blackberries, and bittersweet chocolate merge with notes of graphite and sage, preceding a rich and lengthy finish with refined tannins and structure.
