Wine Review: This opaque and deep ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Chappellet opens with a black currant and eucalyptus bouquet with hints of cigar box and dried herbs. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and very approachable. The flavor profile is a mild cassis and graphite blend with notes of dark chocolate and black tea. We also detected hints of black cherry, cedar, black licorice, and blackberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed sticky tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this food friendly Cabernet Sauvignon with a grilled porterhouse steak. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Reflecting the uniqueness of the long, cool 2023 growing season, this wine is beautifully dark, concentrated, and nuanced. As it opens up, aromas of blackberry, creme de cassis, dark chocolate and roasted coffee emerge, as well as hints of vanilla bean, cedar, sage, and incense. On the palate it is rich and full bodied with silky tannins and a polished structure that melds seamlessly with lush flavors of black cherry, currant, and mocha, with sophisticated hints of fresh herbs, French oak and spice adding gravitas to a long, resonant finish.
