Wine Review: This clear and medium yellow colored Chardonnay from Joseph Drouhin opens with a mild pear and light lemon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balance, round, and smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle saline and mild Anjou pear blend with notes of white tea and almond. I also detected hints of green apple. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. I would pair this crowd-pleasing Chard with chicken piccata. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fruity and full of life. This is a classical white Burgundy and a good entry level wine for Burgundy in general. The color is golden yellow, with a greenish glint. The aromas are reminiscent of fresh grape and green almond. Elegant texture. The 2022 vintage offered a good maturity with particularly aromatic white wines. Citrus and ripe fruit mingle with delicate floral fragrances, very often accompanied by slightly spicy pastry notes. The palate, tender and fleshy, is based on a strong texture. Endowed with a pleasant roundness and a rich aftertaste, the wines of this vintage are well-balanced and show an excellent ageing potential.
