Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Bonanza opens with a blueberry and blackberry bouquet with hints of wintergreen and cocoa powder. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, easy drinking, and a little dense. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry and cocoa powder blend with notes of clove spice drop and black cherry. I also detected hints of blueberry, stone dust, oak, and mild olive. On the finish, its flavors, fresh acidity, and well-managed fine tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this crowd-pleasing Cab with a juicy Angus bacon burger with sauteed mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: "The Vinekeeper" will showcase different areas over time. This debut comes from Napa Valley, renowned for its unique ability to produce exciting wine. Beautifully balanced, rich, fruit-driven, round, and ripe. Scents and flavors of pomace, oak, and cocoa powder, layered with a subtle hint of cinnamon spice. Has a brightness with firm acidity. Also defined by fine tannins that are textural on the palate.
