Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Glen Manor Vineyards in Virginia It opens with a blackberry and tobacco leaf bouquet with hints of graphite, black cherry, leather, and violets. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and bright. The flavor profile is a black currant and cedar blend with notes of blackberry and black licorice. I also detected hints of tobacco, graphite, and 85% dark cocoa. The finish is dry, and its flavors, lively acidity and moderate tannins build-up and stick around for a while. I would decant this Virginia Cab blend for a while before pairing it with a duck cassoulet or with braised short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
