Wine Review: This clear and light platinum colored Vermentino from Barboursville opens with a crushed seashell and green apple bouquet with hints of lime zest and a touch of ruby grapefruit. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, slightly viscous, and a bit zesty. The flavor profile is a stony minerality and lime blend with notes of grapefruit pith and almond paste. We also detected hints of white pepper and chamomile tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. We would pair this Vermentino with a pan-seared Chilean sea bass with a spring vegetable risotto. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Full of lemon-blossom character, lychee, and pear. At once juicy and elegant, delightfully dry, with some real structure, racy acidity, and a long mineral finish. The first sip will make you crave for more. Drink it young or hold some for a up to 3 years. Pair with chicken scaloppine in Vermentino and lemon-butter sauce or with pan-fried blue crab cakes & grilled asparagus, or sea scallop gratin in cream sauce with fresh parsley and garlic. "The best vintage ever" - Luca Paschina, Winemaker
