Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Mauritson opens with a wet stone and blackberry bouquet with hints of black cherry, cola, and dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The amazing mouthfeel is well-balanced, very smooth, opulent, and seamless. The flavor profile is a tasty cassis and stone dust blend with notes of black licorice and black cherry. We also detected hints of black tea, oak, and cola. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its dusty fine tannins drift away nicely. We would sip this Cab by the firepit. With food, we would pair it with a king cut prime rib. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2022 Loam is incredibly expressive with aromas of crushed ripe black cherry and blueberry, fresh violet blossom, vanilla pod shavings, warm sweet pie crust and intricately woven dried herbs. Great freshness with lush, silky tannins makes this energetic Cabernet quite accessible for such a young wine. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it still, however, carries its hallmark length and finesse. This beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon will age gracefully for 10+ years.
