Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Zinfandel from St. Francis opens with a faint lingonberry and cedar bouquet with hints of black plum, pine shavings, and rosemary. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a black plum and extracted blackberry blend with notes of oolong tea and oak. We also detected hints of lingonberry, black pepper, rosemary, and a touch of vanilla. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Zin with lamb burger or lamb lollipops. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This spicy yet refined Zinfandel is beautifully balanced with remarkable color. Aromas of cinnamon and dark mixed berry merge with flavors of blackberry jam, ripe raspberry, and a touch of peppercorn. A luxurious wine with a long and silky finish.
