Wine Review: This clear and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Innumero opens with a red raspberry and spice drop bouquet with hints of teaberry gum and iris. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, velvety smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is a tasty blend of cherry pit and strawberry mousse with notes of fading teaberry gum and red plum. We also detected hints of tarragon and nutmeg. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and polished fine tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this versatile and crowd-pleasing Pinot with your thanksgiving turkey or with bread pudding. Winemaker Notes: A beautifully expressive Pinot Noir, the Norstar bottling showcases the aromatic complexity of the Wente clone. The nose is layered with spice, potpourri, dried rose petals, clove, and dried orange rind, all lifted by vibrant notes of Bing cherry, red plum, and a touch of wild thyme. On the palate, juicy red fruit shines with purity and brightness, supported by a subtle, crunchy acidity that adds lift and energy. A Visit To Virginia Wine Country – Fall 2026

The fall is a perfect time to plan a visit to Virginia Wine country. Ken and the KWG Tasting Panel have been covering the winning wines from the Virginia Governor’s Cup for years. On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Mike Kobler. Mike is the winemaker at Kobler Estate Winery. During the interview, we covered two 2024 rosé wines, one made from Pinot Noir and one made from Syrah. We also covered a 2023 and a 2024 Viognier from the Russian River Valley.
