Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Sangiovese based wine from Sette Ponti opens with a new leather and black cherry bouquet with hints of strawberry licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and savory. The flavor profile is a rustic cedar influenced black cherry and red licorice blend with notes of stony minerality. I also detected hints of red plum and cinnamon. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its fine dusty tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Sangiovese with Grandma's lasagna. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense ruby red color. Delicate floral notes of violet and enticing orange peel meet with a hint of sweet spices. Elegant and enveloping, with juicy tannins and great vivacity. Notable purity and drinkability. Pair with game noble and braised red meats.
