Wine Review: This clear and red colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield opens with a red plum and terra cotta bouquet with hints of teaberry gum, cherry, iris, and tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and savory. The flavor profile is a dried strawberry and red plum blend with notes of clove and Dr. Pepper. We also detected hints of cedar, stony minerality, tobacco and red beet. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and managed mild tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Pinot Noir with a mushroom risotto, or with a turkey dinner with sausage stuffing.
