Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Chianti Classico from Villa Cerna opens with a red cherry and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with hints of stony minerality. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and very approachable. The flavor profile is a red cherry and slightly tart pomegranate blend with notes of stone dust and red licorice. I also detected hints of dried herbs and faint tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins are nicely extended. This is a very good value Sangiovese that would be a very good glass pour option at an Italian restaurant. It is versatile and would pair well with many Italian red sauce dishes. I would pair it with a Bolognese pasta. Enjoy - Ken
