Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Syrah from Kobler opens with a blueberry and lavender sachet bouquet with hints of pepper, pencil shavings, and tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, polished, and bright. The flavor profile is a red plum and boysenberry blend with notes of lingonberry and graphite. We also detected hints of black tea, black pepper, and tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and fine light tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this versatile Syrah with Jiko's wild boar tenderloin. Enjoy - KWGTP
