Wine Review: This polished sparkler from the Russian River Valley is a medium golden yellow color with lots of small streaming bubbles. The bouquet features bright red apple, orange creme, croissant, and crushed limestone. The palate presents fine sustained froth, a medium body, and integrated medium-plus acidity. It is elegant, bright and rather dry. Yet it is also lush, a terrific celebratory wine. There are flavors of baked apple, white peach, toasted brioche, managed oak, stone dust, and a note of almond. The finish is dry, and the acidity lingers a long time, with a pleasant bitter note at the end. Serve chilled by itself or with Maryland lump crab meat with brown butter. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: Enticing aromas of crisp apple, quince, and citrus zest are delicately enhanced by a hint of brioche. Palate displays a natural richness and lively acidity with flavors of green apple, pear, and lemon rind. The fine bubbles showcase exceptional retention with an elegant, refined texture.
