Wine Review: This clear and very dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Domaine Carneros opens with an inviting blackberry and black raspberry bouquet with hints of cedar and moist pipe tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth, seamless, and little savory. The yummy flavor profile is similar to the nose. It features a blackberry and blueberry blend with notes of black cherry-cola, light loam, and clove. I also detected hints of cedar and ripe fig. On the finish, this wine’s flavors, acidity, and very polished fine tannins linger and last for quite a while. I would pair this Pinot Noir with a grilled pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2022 edition of our “Estate” Pinot Noir packs a range of delicious fruit and savory flavors. Beginning with the nose, one encounters subtle red fruits, saddle leather, and tobacco leaf. The palate delivers vibrant red fruits including baked cherry and grilled fig intertwined with silky creamy texture, followed by notes of spice and forest floor on the warming finish. The hallmark of Domaine Carneros Pinot Noir is the texture, and this wine delivers with a supple and rich mouthfeel. Our winemaker TJ loves our Estate Pinot Noir with hen of the woods mushroom pizza.
