Wine Review: This clear and ruby colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield opens with a shy cola and black cherry bouquet with hints of black licorice and black tea. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, deep, structured, and savory. The flavor profile is a black raspberry and tobacco blend with notes of stony minerality, lemon zest, and blueberry. We also detected hints of cola, cedar, and cinnamon. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and integrated fine grained grippy tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this bold Pinot Noir with duck confit or with braised short ribs.
